Meet our New Rector

Dear Friends,

After a year of dedicated and prayerful work by this parish, we are very excited to introduce you to our new Rector, The Rev. Canon Manoj Mathew Zacharia, Ph.D. He is a wonderful combination of the attributes that we as a parish identified as most important to us: a collaborative leader, a joyful presence, an inspiring preacher and a priest who honors the Episcopal tradition.

In his current position, which he has held since 2014, Manoj serves as Sub-Dean at Christ Church Cathedral in Cincinnati, Ohio. Prior to that he served as Rector of St. Paul’s and Resurrection in Wood Ridge, NJ, from 2011-2014, where his service in the Diocese of Newark began at the same time as that of Fr. Tim Mulder. In addition to his clerical work, Manoj is also an educator, having been a lecturer at the Newark School of Theology and Centennial College in Toronto, Canada.

Manoj has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Vassar College, a Bachelor of Divinity degree from The Mar Thoma Theological Seminary, a Masters of Sacred Theology from The General Theological Seminary, where he was a fellow student with Fr. Dion Thompson, and a Ph.D. in Philosophical Theology from University of St. Michael’s College in the University of Toronto. He was born and raised in New York and is happy to be returning to the East Coast where he’ll be close to family.

Manoj, his wife, Joelle, and their two children, Abigail and Johan, will join us on August 1.

Giving heartfelt thanks to God, your Vestry looks forward to planning with you all the ways we can welcome our new Rector and family to our community to begin the next phase in the life of St. Anne’s!

Blessings always,

St. Anne’s Vestry
