Listening, Reflective Listening, and Asking Questions

On Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall, Maria Winters, LCPE, a licensed mental health therapist will offer a presentation featuring Listening, Reflective Listening, and How to Ask Questions. All parishioners are welcome to attend this presentation offered by A Cup of Cold Water ministry.

In this 90-minute interactive workshop, participants will explore the key elements of reflective and empthetic listening, a powerful tool that helps others feel truly heard and understood. When we practice supportive istening, this builds trust and fosters deeper, more meaningful communication—skills that are especially important in helping others. We will explore and experience different kinds of listening and help participants discover what their day-to-day listening mode feels like. We will add several other listening modes to their toolbelt. Participants will learn how to ask powerful questions during conversations and practice offering compassion and empathy in your responses. By the end of the workshop, you’ll be equipped with practical techniques to enhance your listening abilities.
