Dear People of St. Anne’s,
Every year the Episcopal Church requires its parishes to submit a report of statistics: Average Sunday Attendance, number of members, income and so forth. This year they added a page asking about outreach ministries, and not just how many do you have or how many of your members are involved. More to the point they ask us to estimate how many lives are touched by this shared work. This page is not intended to be statistically accurate, but rather, to help churches realize how much of what they do has an impact outside their walls and beyond their membership. When, for example you see 6,000,000, that is not an error; that’s intended to say that our legislative advocacy work is on behalf of the people of Maryland – all of them, not just Episcopalians or just Christians. The bottom line is that all this, all these lives are touched with God’s love and care because of the time and energy you voluntarily give and the financial support you provide so that our mutual ministry together is far more than any of us could ever accomplish individually. Thank you for being part of the ripple effect of God’s love! And carry on! You’re doing great!
The Rev. Dr. Timothy Mulder
Interim Rector
