Cemetery Tour

Ginger DeLuca will be leading a tour of our cemetery on Saturday, April 16 beginning at 10:00 and lasting about 1 ½ hours. We will meet at the “main entrance”, where North Washington T’s at Northwest St. and will learn why the cemetery came to be where it is and how it grew over the years. In our stroll about the cemetery, we will visit the graves of those who made Annapolis what it is today, from the powerful men who ran the city through the last three centuries to the ordinary men and women who lived and worked throughout the city during those years. We will view the changing attitudes toward death as seen in the memorials and monuments as well as our plans for the future. Spring is a beautiful time to visit the cemetery and we will, appropriately, be there on Holy Saturday, between Good Friday and Easter. We will be doing a good bit of walking so wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. We will be asking for a donation of $10, which will go toward our efforts to revive this wonderful, historical treasure.
