Social Justice Day

September 14, 9:30 AM-2:00 PM, St. Anne's, Annapolis. The Maryland Episcopal Public Policy Network and the Lutheran Office for Public Policy, Maryland invite you to gather to worship and reflect on the Gospel imperatives as they relate to our activity in the public arena. We will also hear stories from those whose lives are adversely impacted by environmental degradation and systemic racism as it manifests itself in education, health care, housing and our judicial system. And, we will hear from advocates and state representatives about potential legislative solutions and what we can do to assist in the legislative process.

The day will begin with morning prayer and a Plenary Session from 9:30 a.m.-11 a.m. The event will then move to the Parish Hall for lunch and breakout sessions. Bishop Carrie Schofield-Broadbent, Diocese of Maryland, will be there and will speak in the Church. We will also hear from the Chair of the House Health and Government Operations Committee Chair, Del. Joseline Pena-Melnyck and our State Comptroller, Brooke Lierman.
