Pastoral Care Ministry

We may take clean, safe and cold water for granted today however in Jesus’ day it was not reliably available and offering water was a sign of caring for one another. Jesus encourages us to give of ourselves and be blessed by the giving.

St. Anne’s newly commissioned ministry, “A Cup of Cold Water” combines three “Lifts”, Listening Lift, Spiritual Lift, and Nourishing Lift with the Eucharistic Visitors, Prayerful Knitting Ministry of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, and “The Period Project” to offer hope and ease a burden for St. Anne’s parishioners.

Offering hope and easing a burden…

  • Eucharistic Visitors

Our Eucharistic Visitors are trained at St Anne’s and certified by the Rector and the Bishop. These ministers take hospitality and consecrated bread and wine to people unable to come to church because of illness, disability or other impediment. This includes visiting parishioners in the hospital.

The Rev. Kathy Shahinian coordinates this ministry. If you desire to have a Eucharistic Visitor or wish to explore being a Eucharist Visitor, please contact: Rev Kathy Shahinian (kshahinian@stannes-annapolis.org).

  • Prayerful Knitting Ministry of St. Anne's Episcopal Church

Our devoted group of knitters and crocheters make prayer shawls for those who are ill or infirm, and baby blankets for newborn babies and the newly baptized. They pray over their colorful works with each stitch.

The Prayerful Knitting Ministry of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church meets in-person once a month. For more information, please contact Elizabeth Rosborg at emrosborg@gmail.com.

  • The Period Project

“The Period Project,” is a ministry of St. Anne’s to provide pads and tampons, free of charge, in wicker baskets in the four bathrooms that women use in the Parish Hall and the church.

Supporting Ministries

  • Healing Prayer

In the Holy Family Chapel, at the time of the offertory during our Sunday Morning Services, we offer prayer with any who desire it. The prayer ministers provide compassion, anointing, laying on of hands and prayer in the name of Jesus. If you to wish consider training and service in this ministry, please contact: Heather Strang (keepthefeast@verizon.net).

  • Intercessory Prayer

What a joy to know that someone is lifting you up to God in their hearts and minds! A simple and profound way of caring for someone and being cared for by someone. If you wish to add a person to the prayer list, please contact: Rev. M. Dion Thompson (dthompson@stannes-annapolis.org).
