Ministry Minute

Did you know that St. Anne’s Grant Program provided financial support to 14 different organizations in 2022?

Among these was Naomi’s Village in Kenya, where we provided full support to two students and their families at the Cornerstone Academy. Here is an excerpt from their October 2022 report to us.

Thank you for your continued support of Hellen Wangui and Antony Njoroge. Your gift has already made a lasting impact on the lives of these two students, along with their entire families. Cornerstone has inspired Hellen to be an avid reader and has caused Hellen’s confidence and self-esteem to grow over this past year. Hellen’s mother believes high standards at Cornerstone have spurred Hellen to improve academically, physically, and psychologically. She also credited daily employment provided to her by Cornerstone and food supplements sent home with Hellen for sustaining her family during difficult times.

Antony’s teacher describes him as an intelligent little boy who is self-motivated, has a growth mindset, and is intellectually curious, which leads to many interesting questions and discussions. Antony’s mother, recently separated from her husband due to domestic violence, was overwhelmed with gratitude when Cornerstone made regular home visits through its social worker and nurse.

In early 2023 we will begin a new grant year. The application for grants will be available on the St. Anne’s website. We are always looking for ways to continue to support our neighbors both locally and around the world.

Generally, we support organizations that:

•Address humanitarian needs locally
•Embody a mission of love and empowerment
•Have direct involvement of St. Anne’s Parishioners
•Demonstrate a record of success
•Seek to make a positive impact on people’s lives
•Have results that can be measured
• Recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization
