Adult Forum, Revelation: The Victory of the Lamb

Our Adult Forum pilgrimage will continue as we read the Book of Revelation. Christ will be ever present, writing letters and casting visions, beginning on Sunday, April 27, through Sunday, June 8, after the 10 a.m. services in the Parish Hall.

St. John the Divine’s letter to the seven churches is a unique and fascinating testament to the Christian faith. As a letter written from prison, it stands with the great epistles of St. Paul, the prison letters of Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Martin Luther King Jr.’s Letter from a Birmingham Jail. Fr. Dion will lead a conversation about the question: What would Jesus write to St. Anne’s? on April 27.

Tom May, formerly of St. John’s College, will help us experience the world of visual art inspired by Revelation on Sunday, May 4.

Our musical team of J. Ernest Green and Larry Molinaro will bring the hymnody of Revelation to life on Sunday, May 11.

Dr. Jennifer McNeel from St. Mary’s Ecumenical Institute will speak about female representation in Revelations on Sunday, May 18.

We’ll end our pilgrimage on Sundays, June 1 and June 8, under the guidance of Dr. Mike Gorman, who explored the many intriguing aspects of the epistle in his book Reading Revelation Responsibly. We’ll witness the titanic battle that leads to the destruction of Babylon and the victory of the Lamb. The New Jerusalem will descend. The holy fire of Pentecost will touch our souls. And, we will close with the expectant prayer of all Christians: Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
