Representatives from two organizations -- St. Anne’s Partners in Mission Guatemala and Naomi’s Village – will address St. Anne’s Episcopal Church’s Adult Forum on Sunday, Feb, 9, at 11:30 a.m. at the church’s Parish House, 199 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis. Md. The two were among 14 organizations that received grants from St. Anne’s in 2024.
St. Anne’s Partners in Mission in Guatemala was established in 1992 to focus on the health, education and community empowerment of the Mayan communities in the Chimaltenango region of Guatemala. Since then, the group has helped with scholarships, wood-burning stoves, latrines, water system installation and inspection, dental care, community building construction, school construction, renovation support, English courses and more. The 2024 grant supported a water infrastructure project to improve access to clean and reliable water sources in rural villages in Guatemala.
Naomi’s Village is a “Kenyan children’s home, preschool, and K-12 academy serving children in the Great Rift Valley.” St. Anne’s 2024 grant provided a full annual sponsorship for the continued education of a student at Naomi's Village Cornerstone Preparatory Academy. The scholarship recipient received medical evaluations and health care, nutritional meals and snacks, quality education, school supplies and uniforms, bus transportation, access to extracurricular activities, spiritual care and development, and family assistance and empowerment.
