Hospitality Ministry
The hospitality ministry, co-chaired by Babs Mersereau and Jo Tetlow, supports churchwide and special events with food and beverages. Our ministry currently has six dedicated members who seek to serve the congregation through the gift of hospitality. We are always seeking to expand the membership of our ministry. Upcoming in our schedule is a May event for the Garden of Remembrance, St. Anne's Cemetery, and weekly after-10:00 a.m. service coffee hour. Also, beginning the first Sunday of June, St. Anne'sministries will provide hospitality in the church yardafter the 10:00 a.m. service.
Food is a vital part of human life. In addition to its biological and nutritional purposes, food brings people together in community. As a centripetal force, food attracts people to the center of community through eating and conversation. Newcomers and long-time parishioners need the fellowship that hospitality offers. It may be a first step in connectionto others and facilitate further relationship and asense of belonging.
The hospitality ministry stands ready to serve God through provision of food and beverages at St. Anne'sChurch events. We have observed the joy that food and fellowship brings to newcomers, and the generousity of St. Anne's parishioners in offering time and food talent with our events. God has blessed St.Anne's richly with the resources for hospitality. With gratitude and thanksgiving, the hospitality ministry seeks to emulate Jesus' open heart, loving embrace of others through the basic essentials of life: food and water (and coffee, etc.!)
