Nourishing Lift Ministers through Connection/Are You Called to Serve?

As part of the Nourishing Lift team (part of A Cup of Cold Water ministry), my husband Wayne and I were blessed to bring a meal to a parishioner couple recently. It was most helpful that, as the team coordinators, Judy Olson and I talked with the husband ahead of beginning meal deliveries to find out about any food restrictions and preferences for the kinds of meals that would best meet their needs. We called ahead to arrange a good time for delivery and spent about 45 minutes visiting with the husband, whose wife is not up for visitors. It is clear he is very grateful for both meals and company. Providing the personal contact is as much a port of this ministry as the meal itself. He was repeatedly thankful that St. Anne’s is caring in such practical ways. In addition, praying for meal recipients is now part of our daily practice.

I am most thankful to be part of this ministry of love and caring for members of our congregation at times of special need. Someday, I expect I will be grateful to be on the receiving end.

If anyone is interested in joining this team, please get in touch with either of us: Linda Adamson, LSAdamson1@gmail.com, or Judy Olson, jaolson45@gmail.com.
