2024 Mission Trip
July 2024 - Mission Trip:
In July I will be making my fourth trip to Kenya! We have a wonderful group of individuals who make up our St. Anne’s Mission Team this year! All of them have been involved with this ministry for several years through child sponsorship. We are all looking forward to engaging with the children and their families when we arrive in the Great Rift Valley where we will serve at Naomi’s Village.
Our Team is seeking the support of our family, friends, faith communities, child sponsors, and anyone else who has a heart for vulnerable children to partner with us in providing as many sets of bunkbeds and food packages as possible for the community-based children who are students at LEAP Preschool/Naomi’s Village. This effort is timely as many local families were recently impacted by a massive flood that rushed down the nearby mountain and throughout the valley below. Many lost their belongings, homes, and loved ones. It is heartbreaking.
A significant part of our time will be spent in the surrounding community where we will have the privilege of meeting parents and learning about their lives. They consistently describe the positive changes in the lives of their children since they have been students at LEAP and the hope they have for their children because of Naomi’s Village. With social workers and community development staff, and perhaps a few teens from Cornerstone Academy, we will deliver and assemble locally made bunkbeds and provide food packages that feed a family for at least a week.
It is difficult for most of us to imagine not having a bed for our children to sleep in each night. Providing healthy sleeping arrangements supports the neurological development that occurs in young children as they sleep.
A set of locally made bunkbeds and food packages together cost $129.

Hellen listens closely as Lori explains why St. Anne’s is giving her a keepsake photo album and the particular photos we have shared with her. One of the photos has a picture of St. Anne’s friends gathering to pray for the children, staff, and families during the pandemic. Another is a photo of a collage of more than 40 children who are sponsored by NV supporters in our faith community.
