Cemetery Survey Day Results
The Cemetery Committee would like to thank all who came out on Saturday, March 29 for our first Cemetery Survey Day, organized and led by Jay Thomas. It was a beautiful, warm day in which about 30 people volunteered to input the information on our memorial stones into the Find a Grave app. By the end of the day, 114 new memorial records had been added and 276 existing records had been geotagged. At present St. Anne’s Cemetery has 3,830 memorials entered into Find a Grave with 2,646, or 69%, now geotagged. With so many buried in our cemetery, this valuable work will help those who are looking for loved-ones easily find their graves.
We are planning for another Survey Day later this spring as we work toward 100% of our memorials recorded and geotagged. We would love to have you join us then. If you wish to help us next time with our survey, please contact Jay Thomas, jt9@att.net and he can help you with adding the Find a Grave app onto your cell phone before the event.
