Tempest Brevard to be our Director of Children & Youth

With gratitude to God and the work of our excellent HR Advisory Committee led by Michael Thaxton, we are delighted to announce that we have called Tempest Brevard to be our Director of Children and Youth effective June 1, 2022.

 Tempest’s energy, passion, and love for Jesus is an inspiration! Our vision is to widen/enlarge the circle. Given that, part of the responsibility of the new Director of Children and Youth Ministry will be to work with our children and youth who come on Sunday and those in our geographic parish particularly targeting Annapolis Elementary School and the Stanton Center.

Raised in North Carolina and an avid Duke basketball fan, Tempest earned a B.A. from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, with a major in Psychology. She has a M.Ed. in Counseling from Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts. She felt a call to full-time ministry and was led to an M.A. in Religious Education from Andover Newton at Yale in Connecticut. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Malone University in Ohio.

She is engaged to her fiancée Robert. Likes to volunteer in her community, hang out with her dogs Hurley and Addie, enjoys taking road trips and live music.
