St. Anne’s Project Review at the HPC on April 8 - Postponed
St. Anne’s must obtain approval from the Annapolis Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) to receive FEMA funding and move ahead with installing a back-up generator at the Parish House/PASA preschool and securing the fence at Church Circle. These 2 projects were originally submitted for a review by HPC on Tuesday, April 8, @ 7 pm at Annapolis City Hall. The HPC has asked St. Anne’s to provide further information relating to both proposals, therefore, the proposals will be reviewed by the HPC at a public hearing at a later date to be scheduled. The earliest date the proposals could be heard will be May 13.
If you have any questions or would like to attend when the hearing is rescheduled, please email Bob Biddle, the Facilities Committee Vestry Liaison, BobBiddle@stannes-annapolis.org or text or call Bob at 410-570-5962.
A summary of the 2 proposed projects are provided below.
The application to install a backup power generator at the Parish House is described in a fact sheet here. When power is interrupted downtown and the PASA preschool is in session, all the children must be sent home. This is highly disruptive and has occurred many times in 2023 and 2024. This could be avoided by installing a backup generator.
In addition, at the Church, we are applying to install a total of six (6) perimeter site bollards at the walk gates and the driveway gates. The existing iron gates will be repaired and adjusted for ease of opening, closing, and securing.
A hi-tensile strength, 3/8-inch diameter, stainless steel cable will be secured to reinforce the existing wrought iron fence approx. 10-inches above existing ground level with durable ground anchors.
