This ministry welcomes the fellowship and inclusion of LGBTQ+ individuals, their families, and allies, into parish life and worship at St. Anne’s. We are an active witness to the community outreach and Christian values of St. Anne’s. Organized in 2018, the Rainbow Group continues to receive strong support from all of St. Anne’s clergy, staff, and parishioners, to serve the many LGBTQ+ individuals and families of the Parish. The Rainbow Group focuses on social gatherings, sponsoring community service projects, and many of St. Anne’s social service ministries like the Light House Pantry food drive and Annapolis Pride participation.

The Rainbow Group has also worked with Maryland Episcopal Public Policy Network (MEPPN) to petition members of the Maryland Senate Education, Health and Environment Affairs Committee, in order to establish the Commission on LGBTQ Affairs in the Governor’s Office of Community Initiatives (GOCI) to assess the challenges facing lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) communities and collect data on the implementation of LGBTQ-inclusive policies and complaints alleging discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

St. Anne’s Rainbow Group is a beacon of inclusiveness and tolerance at St. Anne’s in Annapolis, throughout Anne Arundel County, and our region. Please contact Rainbow Group Coordinator Paul Pope (paulpope3@gmail.com) for information or assistance.
