St. Anne's is hosting a lecture series, Scholars on Scripture: Interpretation and Application.
Our first speaker is The Rev. Dr. D. Brent Laytham, professor in the School of Theology and dean of St. Mary’s Ecumenical Institute, who will discuss "Paul, the Trinity, and All of Us: Identity Lessons from 2 Corinthians" at Saint Anne’s Parish Hall on Sunday, Jan. 21, at 11:30 a.m.
His presentation on 2 Corinthians will focus on St. Paul’s triune benediction – "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you." Laytham asserts that through various passages in 2 Corinthians, Paul invites Christians to discover who God is — Father, Son and Holy Spirit — and learn identity lessons for themselves.
Rev. Laytham is a well-known United Methodist pastor and has served on the board of The Institute for Islamic, Christian, and Jewish Studies in Baltimore. From 2004 to 2015, he coordinated The Ekklesia Project, which brought together a network of Christians from various denominations to promote a more active and God-centered faith. Attendance at Saint Anne’s Adult Forum is free and open to the public. The sessions are held at the church’s Parish Hall, 199 Duke of Gloucester St. in Annapolis, Md.
